Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2013, Nevada
The Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2013 will be held in Lake Las Vegas for the last time in the foreseeable future before it moves to Mont-Tremblant, Québec for the 2014 season.
This is the biggest race on the Ironman 70.3 calendar and one where Crowie has found a lot of success. He was the inaugural winner back in 2006, won it again in 2011, and came just short in 2012. This will be the last race in Las Vegas before the Ironman 70.3 World Championship begins rotating locations, starting in Mont-Tremblant, Québec in 2014. The race starts at Lake Las Vegas, minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip. The bike course takes competitors through Lake Mead National Recreational Area which includes several steep climbs. The run course spans Henderson’s residential areas with views of the Las Vegas Strip. The rolling hills and climbs will challenge the competitors with three major elevations for them to contend with.
It’s a little under two months away, but who do you think are the favourites in Nevada? Can Craig capture a third Ironman 70.3 World Championship? Let us know in the comments below.
