The yellow brick road to IRONMAN 70.3 Kansas
The family and I have just travelled from Hawaii to Boulder and settled in to our summer base. It’s always a nice feeling arriving here as it is such a great town, our second home now.
I don’t have much time to settle in though as I am heading out to Kansas on Friday to race the IM 70.3 in Lawrence.
I’ve only been there once 5 years ago and it’s a nice little town similar to Boulder in a lot of ways being a college town. I often do back to back Half IM’s in the middle of the year and I am looking forward to another hot humid race in Kansas. From what I remember a very undulating course, but maybe minus the wind we got last week in Hawaii.
Good mate of mine Paul Matthews has won this race before and apparently the Wizard of OZ characters line the finish chute to meet you. Hope I’m moving a little quicker that the Tin Man at the end.
It’s a busy week next week with some media scheduled and then off to a Velodrome in Los Angeles for some testing with Louis Garneau, Specialized, Oakley and Shimano.
Follow the yellow brick road and I’ll see you in Kansas.
